Letter From A Roberts Dated 11 July 1914

Phila. Jul 11 14

Friend Bob.

Rec'd the cologne about a week ago and am very thankful for same. Was over in N.Y. on [SS] Colon but the Elect. would not let me work for him so I had to come home, only stayed two days. Am very busy at yard now so I am just as well off. You ought to see our flower garden now. We can pick about 100 pansies every other day, besides other flowers. Had a letter from Riseby to-day but I could do him no good sorry to say. We had a dandy time up here on the Fourth of July. Everybody had their house decorated and it certainly looked nice. Had exercises in the schools all morning, sports in the afternoon. Baby parade and then fireworks. We had 14 people at our house [;] would like to have had you here. Write soon and let me here (sic) from you and do not forget to hunt me up any time you are in Phila.

Yours truly

A Roberts
