Dear Bob,
Your note received to-
day, and it was only a note
You will see the next letter
I write, it will be just
on one of these cards, to pay
you back, just because you
feel out of sorts is no reason
why you should take it out
on me, ah well - at any rate
had it only been written on a
postage stamp, it would be
appretiated [sic] just the same.
Don't forget to call me up
as soon as you dock. Love

Note: Envelope is postmarked Long Branch, NJ, Dec 20, 1915, 7 am, addressed to Mr Robert Noble, S. S. Panama, Foot 27th Street, NYC. The envelope has red sealing wax on the back seam. A postal card is used for the letter.
